Hypersonic planes, are we ready for them?

First, I want to apologize for the lack of posts. I was gathering more articles on upcoming and concept technology. I will post more soon. The company Boomsonic is creating a new hypersonic plane called Overture. Overture is supposed to be a sustainable and eco-friendly alternative for our current planes. If Overture succeeds in getting in the air, it could go as fast as 1304 miles per hour. That's pretty damn fast. Boomsonic plans to get Overture ready for the general public in 2030. While I am intrigued, I'm also skeptical that Overture will ever become a reality. I'm all for a sustainable and new way to travel, either by a hypersonic plane or a self-driving car.

Between now and 2030, I believe that given Boomsonic goes through all the legal and safety protocols and tests; Overture could be an alternative way to get to any destination we want. But that also begs the question of how much an Overture flight would cost. A flight could cost from $1000-$6000 per seat, maybe more (damn that's crazy expensive).

Keep in mind that Overture is still being designed and built. So many people are working on how much noise Overture would make, making sonic booms or breaking the sound barrier to a minimum or non-existent. The Overture is still about 9-10 years or more away from being completed. So if Overture ever comes to fruition, maybe by 2030 or 2040 we'll have taken care of sonic booms and breaking the sound barrier issues surrounding hypersonic planes. Maybe one day when we can afford a flight on Overture, the view would be unique, the hi-tech seats would be comfy, and the service could be pretty good. I can't wait to see how Overture develops.
