Crispr tech could be used to create gene-editing drugs, possibly by next year.

Crispr has had quite a rocky start. For those who don't know what Crispr is, it's a gene-editing technology that could be used to develop treatments for many terminal illnesses such as sickle cell, cancer, or Tay-Sachs disease. Gene editing is still new to the medical industry.

I am happy Crispr has been developed and may be able to help cure people with life-limiting illnesses. With our current treatment options for diseases like cancer, it's pretty painful to go through chemo or other cancer treatments. It's basically hit or miss with our current cancer treatment options. It is true many people will be against it and caution is necessary, but that does not mean Crispr can't be used to do good.

Many diseases like sickle cell or Tay-Sachs can be severe or even deadly. With Crispr, many people may have a chance to live a long life. Other gene-editing techniques, including Crispr technology, still have much to go through before being approved for the drug market. If and when Crispr-developed drugs do get on the market, it may be worth trying.
